This was so much fun to make and I used the left overs from a quilt I made for my sister using The Caroler line of fabric. I also drew all the feathers on then free motion quilted them and I just love the way it looks! I feel like Im getting so much better at this free motion quilting! Ive come a long way from my first time and I love it! The second picture is of the quilting from the back before I put the backing on.
I'm beginning this blog as a tribute to my love of quilting and to my Dear Mother. She is the one who always supported me in all my creative indeavors and when I started quilting the one I could turn to with all my questions. It is from her that I have had the courage to allow my creativity to flourish.

Valentine Pillow
I just love this valentine rag pillow I made using some valentine squares I had. The center's are reverse appliqued hearts with free motion hearts and loops created in each of the other blocks. Middle layer is a soft fleece and back is a pink marble. One of my favorite pillows! And all made using stash fabrics, Yay!

Dresden Pillow Case
Oh I really love how this turned out! The quilting I have to say is just so pretty, Im getting much better at this free motion stuff. The second picture is of the back so you can see the quilting better.
Took a little break :)
After I finished the ladies quilt for my niece I took a little break. I had been working on that quilt and some other things since July so I decided to enjoy Christmas and New Years and just relax. So for my New Year resolution I decided I will try to use up my stash of fabrics and get through some ufo's I have sitting around. So far Ive made two pillows using some string pieced blocks that I had sitting around and the wonky house wall quilt. I think I will make some dresden pillows with some of the dresden blocks I have too. Pillows are so fast to make and are just great accents for any room! Plus they are small enough that I can get in some free motion quilting practice and I love "almost instant" gratification too!
