Here is the first row completed. I haven't sewn on the lattice row yet, I will do those at the very end after all rows are completed. Im really liking this!
I'm beginning this blog as a tribute to my love of quilting and to my Dear Mother. She is the one who always supported me in all my creative indeavors and when I started quilting the one I could turn to with all my questions. It is from her that I have had the courage to allow my creativity to flourish.

The Beginning!!!
Well here it is, the beginning of what my ladies quilt will become. I didnt get as much done today as I had hoped due to my son getting into a fight at school and being suspended for a day and all the mom stuff that comes along with all that drama. But hopefully Ill find some time this weekend to put a big dent in this project of the heart. I love how it is looking thus far and think I made a good decision to go with the lattice! Im loving it!

Homes # 6 and 7
Just finished up these two wonky homes after a long day of cleaning, destashing and reorganizing and I think I should have just taken a nap. The blocks look nice but they took way too long because the white material has a right and wrong side and I am so tired I kept getting one side right and the other side would be backwards and it did show so I had to take them apart twice ( once on each block) and resew and on the last one I also had cut the material at the wrong angle and had to make the angle correct and by doing so had to add some more white background in order to have enough to make my 10 inch square when finished. So now Im saying PHEW! and going to take a nap! :)

I'm a nurse by trade so I find the following things very interesting and when I seen this post on another members blog, I just knew I had to share it! Enjoy your "TRIP" back in time :)

I remembered!
To take a picture of the fabric postcard I finished this morning. I love making and recieving these is even better! Each one is like a little piece of art!
Also while I'm in the "remembering" mode :), here is a sketch Ive drawn up with the layout of the ladies memory quilt I'm making. I have 30 of the ladies blocks so hoping to get 3 quilts out of them, one for my daughter and two for my sister's daughter's.
And another wonky house block finished! Woohoo! 5 down, 5 to go!

What Ive been up to.
Well Ive been busy sewing, just so busy with running kids around that I haven't posted. I have made my daughter several dresses for school. Here a pics of a couple...The dress below was created from a used mans long sleeve shirt I found on ebay and loved the colors and piecing of it.
Ive also created a few postcards for swaps and of course I made them and mailed them out before thinking of taking pictures. Im still in the process of trying to finish up my mom's ladies with umbrella's quilt but Im waiting on some fabric's Ive ordered for the latice and borders. So in the mean time I'm working on some wonky house blocks for a private swap on swap bot. Here are pictures of the four I have finished right now. I need to make ten of them, nine will be mailed out and I will keep one for myself. The only rules for these blocks were that the background needed to be a light color fabric and they needed to be 10" square.
